Although ANGELS EMBRACE® does not provide the hospice care directly, we partner with the local hospitals and hospice providers, working with them to ensure our client's needs are met.

How does hospice care work? Typically, a family member serves as the primary contact and makes decisions for the terminally ill individual. Members of the hospice team assess the patient and provide additional care and services as needed. Hospice staff are on call 24/7.

The hospice team develop a plan that manages pain and helps control symptoms. The team may be comprised of a mixture of the following types of individuals: physicians (personal and hospice), caregivers, nurses, social workers, clergy, volunteers (family and friends) and sometimes an array of therapists such as occupational, speech and physical therapists.

Hospice care provides medical, emotional, and spiritual support for people who are in the final stages of a serious illness. Hospice care also helps family members take care of the practical details and face the emotional challenges associated with caring for a dying loved one.
